About Faculty
Establishment of the faculty:
Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development (FESRD) is the youngest faculty of Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA). It was established on April, 1, 2004.
Main mission of the Faculty:
is to provide education, research and consultancy in the fields such as - Regional Development, European Policies, Management of Rural Development and Environmental Management - in order to achieve the aim of common basis for integrated rural development in the region. Thereby the Faculty will contribute to educational, scientific and economic growth of the society.Currently there are study programmes offered at 2 levels of study: (1) the Bachelor and (2) the Master.
Graduates of the faculty:
Since establishment of the faculty up to now (2009) 1306 students including 50 foreign students have finished their study.
Since the establishment of the Faculty within the frame of EU programs - Exchange programs, 71 students studied abroad (Austria, Belgium, Czech, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuanian, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain)
Faculty accepted for study stays within the frame of EU programs: 11 Erasmus students from Czech, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and within International master in rural development (IMRD) 66 students (Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Ecuador, Ghana, Haiti, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, Ukraine, Uzbekistan).

SUA is a member of consortium of universities in the frame of āInternational master in rural developmentā (IMRD). Our university together with universities in Ghent, Cordoba, Berlin, Rennes, Pisa, Wageningen participates in this international study program and graduates obtain a joint degree diploma in rural development.

Projects at the faculty:
Faculty is engaged in several national and international research and educational projects.
Since its establishment (2004) faculty coordinated and participated in the following types of projects:
