Between July 7 and 14, 2025, Széchenyi István University hosted the second TASA Summer School in the city of Győr, Hungary, bringing together twenty-six students and underscoring how effective and inspiring international cooperation can be.
Focusing on the theme "The Future of Tourism – Digital Tools and Technological Solutions", the summer school provided a forward-thinking program that covered among other topics, digital opportunities in tourism, online marketing solutions, artificial intelligence, presentation skills, project management, marketing strategy, and online presence through lectures and interactive workshops delivered by experts from academia and the industry.
The main project of the summer school was a case study provided by the program’s client, Aquaworld Resort Budapest. Students worked in five teams, developing their concepts independently while also having access to academic consultations throughout the week. The teams were made up of students from different countries, academic backgrounds, and levels of study, which provided a variety of perspectives. They had to focus on topics such as website benchmarking, service development targeting Generation Z, family-oriented communication campaign, and TikTok-based marketing strategies. On the final day of the summer school, the teams presented their ideas to an expert jury, which evaluated them in-depth on the basis of based on creativity, feasibility, and practical application. The presentations clearly demonstrated how the students applied the knowledge and skills they had gained throughout the summer school.
The program included social and cultural activities in addition to academic content. Several field trips were also organized, combining cultural discovery with professional experiences. Aquaworld Resort Budapest, the client of the case study, as well as the regional tourism organization VisitBalaton 365 in Keszthely were both visited by the participants. Other highlights included excursions and guided tours to the city of Győr, the Benedictine Archabbey and Herbal Garden of Pannonhalma, and the Castle of Mosonmagyaróvár.
